  Attention: New Players

As of late I've encountered a few new players who were struggling to get off the ground. So, I want to post a few words of encouragement. First off, I want to say we've ALL been there. Keep in mind that none of us started out with badass armies. We all had to build them up over time. Which is the whole point of card collecting (and leveling) games.

Regarding the imbalance between new and veteran players: The most effective way to balance the game would be to make all cards available to all players. But, then it would not be a card collecting game anymore. And, collecting cards is what makes games like Highgrounds so addictive. It also makes the game much more interesting to play, because everyone has different cards to select from, so you never know what you will encounter in the next match. And, building an impressive card collection over time is essentially our reward for being loyal players.

Regarding fairness: Highgrounds is fair in so much as every player starts their account with the same cards. So, we all have to build up from the same starting position. None of us started out with a leg up on the competition. Some players play casually. Some players are more dedicated and grind for gems everyday. Some players purchase gems as a means of fast tracking -- which financially supports the game.

My advice to newbies is to enjoy the card collecting process. The one upside to having a small card collection is that you have so much room for growth. Every new expansion pack has the potential to unlock new tactics for you! As a veteran player I often acquire entire expansion packs full of duplicate cards that are of no use to me. So, enjoy the "growing" process while you can.

Veteran players should by all rights have an advantage over newbies. That is the case in most all card collecting (and leveling) games. As it should be. So, don't be discouraged if you're still in the early building stages. The Arena matches are tough at that level, but it will get easier as you build up your collection. Take pride in your victories, and try not to fret over your losses. See you on the battlefield!

i am cheating.
with two accounts: boredom and olando
rather simple technique, play game simultaneously with both and let one win so much over and over again.
feel free to delete my accounts, as i cannot do it myself.

why can i not delete my accounts?

also a website provides a rather mean cheat. you should fix this, not block it, but fix the hack. it should not be possible in the first place if the game was well programmed.

  Exchange Units Dilemma

In Highgrounds I have a lot of extra commons and can't seem to exchange them for new uncommons because I have two of every uncommon. From my understanding, it says I can't craft more uncommons because I have every single one. This is good so players don't craft duplicates. For my case though, I need to craft duplicates so I can craft more rares, ultra rares, etc. Maybe this can be addressed if a player gains all the cards of a certain card rarity and then they can start crafting duplicates. This won't change the fact that you can't go lower than 2 versions of the same card.

Hi guys. I just played with a guy called Doop who drew:
in the first turn: Johnn and Morgart = 5 gold (with 2 gold production)
in the second turn: Durant and Oakley = 12 gold (with 4 gold production)
in the third turn: Bran, Fog, Kaite and Groff = 12 gold (still with 4 gold production)

what the heck was that?

New “World Bank” Building, high-res item art, and more!

Halloween is almost upon us! We’re celebrating with an early update to Hero Generations that features a special Halloween Event, as well a number of big changes that we’ve wanted to make for a long time. These changes are now on iOS, Android, and Steam. Here’s the full change list!

  • Halloween special event! From now through November 1st, all worlds of Hero Generations will be overrun with pumpkins, skeletons, haunted forests, gravestones, candy, and more. Fire up a game and explore to find all of the fun fall changes!
  • New Building: Bank. The World Bank will be added to all newly created worlds. It allows players to deposit gold for future generations, plus interest. Explore your world to find it.

  • New global quest: Craft a special town type.
  • High-Res Item Art: Added higher res images and changed all loot objects to have higher res images. No more grainy items in the UI.

  • Added different sized icons to match the value of consumable items (strength potions, damage potions, lifespan potions, gravestones, and gold piles).
  • Added camera focus event that tells player when the Fountain of Youth has refreshed with a new giant lifespan bonus.
  • Added counter to Fountain of Youth description to help with long term tracking.
  • Added world icons next to the titles on Quest pages in Quest UI.
  • Enemies are now more likely to hold weapons and items, making combat more interesting and varied.
  • Added ‘Block Holidays’ option in settings so players can avoid holiday modes if they would prefer.
  • Increased initial player strength to 5 from 1.
  • Added numeric icons on locks in tech tree UI so users know which generation buildings are unlocked in.
  • Fixed visual glitch on Bone item when in item slot.
  • Fixed Gravestones not giving gold after game load.
  • Fixed Issues with Skipping the Tutorial.
  • Fixed various minor bugs reported by the community.
